Thank you for reading this and helping to plan for the future of The Centre Wakefield La Peche (CWLP). We would like to get your views about the Centre by asking you to complete a survey.
To put the survey into context we are in a year of strategic planning to reinvigorate the Centre and secure its sustainability for the generations that come after us…
We have started the process by having a half-day Community Consultation. From those discussions we have created this survey to get feedback and ideas from as many people as possible. Then, with this information, the Board and the staff will work on an action plan for the future.
As a reminder the CWLP was incorporated as a CO-OP with a lifetime membership of 20$ (for individuals). It opened its doors in 2006, with a vision to create and maintain a space of culture and recreation that is the centre of the community and serves to welcome and inspire people of all ages. Our mission is to provide high quality cultural and recreational programs and events for all in a sustainable manner. We uphold the values recognized by the International Co-operative Alliance: self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity and solidarity.
The CWLP is not a municipal service, nor a charity organisation. We work, as much as possible, in partnership with other local organisations to offer the best activities and events as possible.
To be able to rebalance the finances and get out of the red, we had to let go of all our full-time permanent staff in 2017 and have been managing with a very few hours of paid staff and many, many hours of volunteering workers. Our plan is to be able to hire full time staff again soon. But for that, we need to insure our financial health and a management structure. To do this we need a strategic plan which is why we value your ideas about the future through this survey. You may click on the link to access the online survey, (pour la version française, passez à la version française du site) print the PDF downloadable survey or get a paper copy at the Centre and drop it in the box provided for the filled-out surveys.
