Storytelling 101: Rhythm, Rhyme and Repetition

This study of the world’s folklore is a composite of both the theoretic and the practical aspects of Storytelling. The theoretic content of the course will provide basic knowledge of traditional Story with emphasis on the seven genres of story and archetypal motifs. The practical content of the course will revolve around the magical three: rhythm, rhyme and repetition, including plenty of play and inspiration when participants choose and refine stories to be shared in a Storytelling circle. Though this is neither a writing course, nor an actor’s workshop, both language and performance are key components of Storytelling and will therefore be subject to coaching during the preparation and execution of the stories. “Let the humour, romance and wisdom of the ages be unleashed!”
