Join us as we celebrate Wakefield, Québec's winter festival Dragon Fest with the premiere of STO Union's community collaboration project "The Twilight Parade" (staring our very own dragon, Darmagon)!

The Twilight Parade is a grassroots, large-scale community-engaged project, both inspired by and starring puppets handmade by residents of Wakefield, Quebec and area and brought to life on the Centre Wakefield La Pêche stage by nine actors performing live voice-overs of the 45 characters in the film.

This feature-length film tells the story of a community theatre company performing their play, "The Twilight Parade." The community play tells the story of a group of villagers who, while debating the future of their community water well, begin to understand the larger forces at play that erode the threads that hold communities together. Their hard-earned insights are witnessed by Darmagon, an other-worldly being who has run away from his society in the clouds in search of answers to his own questions on ownership, purpose and belonging.

Over 100 community members lent their talents to the production: making puppets, designing and building sets and costumes, puppeteering, and performing pre-recorded vocal tracks as a guide for future live performances.

CAST: Sheena Turcotte, Michael McKinnell, Shaista Latif, Jeffrey Ferguson, Tom Werbo, Gary Dimmock, Anouk-Michelle Grégoire, Carolina Bookless and Michael Clarke.

NOTE: We suggest parental guidance with a minimum age around 10 yeard old (PG-10). The production tackles issues of racism, exclusion, economic and social alienation and shows characters yelling and having difficult conversation.

We acknowledge, recognize, and respect that we live, work, learn and play within the traditional unceded, unsurrendered territory of the  Anishinaabe Algonquin People.
